EBAY: A rare £2 coin has been listed for £300 on the buying and selling auction website, which is a Trinity House two pound coin first issued in 2014. Do you have one of these special rare coins in your spare change or nestled in your pocket? You could make a lot of money.

Some coins can make a pretty penny on the site, thanks to their high value among collectors.
One such coin is a rare £2 coin currently listed for £300 on the popular website.
It has a distinctive design of a lighthouse inscribed on its reverse side.
The coin is listed by eBay seller a.tatta.mnzthg, who has 100 per cent positive feedback among users.

The description explains that this £2 coin has a particular error which makes it more unique.
It reads: “Rare 2 pound coin Trinity House. Error on rim of the coin writing upside down. Great for a Keen Coin Collector.”
So what is special about the coin design, and how rare is it?
The official Royal Mint website gives a clue about its origins.
The reverse coin side was designed by Joe Whitlock Blundell with David Eccles, it is revealed.

It has a mintage of 3,705,000, and an edge inscription which reads “serving the manner”.
The website goes into further detail about the coin design.
It reads: “Trinity House was formed by Royal Charter under Henry VIII in 1514.
“The organisation was tasked with improving the safety of Britain’s waterways and for 500 years Trinity House has tirelessly served the mariner.
“To honour the 500th Anniversary of this respected organisation, a £2 coin entered circulation.

“The reverse features a design by Joe Whitlock Blundell, Production Director of The Folio Society, created with the help of David Eccles, a retired illustrator and printer.
“It captures the spirit of Trinity House with an enduring symbol of the seas – the lighthouse.”
It is not just certain £2 coin that are rare. Yesterday, a rare 50p selling for £3,000 was found on eBay.
The coin bears a Battle of Hastings design and was first minted in 2016.
The seller goes by the eBay username of davemac62 and is from Bradford, UK.
