AAP slams BJP over ‘land scam’

Reacting to reports of a former North Delhi Municipal Corporation official alleging unauthorised transfer of land, the Aam Aadmi Party on Wednesday said it would not allow the BJP-ruled civic body to “get away with loot”, according to a statement.

Former Additional Commissioner Renu Jadgev had alleged various irregularities in the functioning of the North Corporation, saying she was transferred out after raising the issue internally. One of the issues, she flagged in her letter to the Mayor on May 18, was the transfer of 95 acres of land to the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation without approval of the corporation.

AAP spokesperson Dilip Pandey said, “AAP will not allow loot of public money and we will take this scam to the people of Delhi — this issue will be forcefully raised in forthcoming Assembly session as well. The North body Mayor has tried to intimidate us by filing defamation suits against us. But that does not deter us. We will continue to expose the BJP’s corruption.”
