Sahana Yathra brings aid to those affected

COLOMBO (News 1st) – The Sirasa Shakthi Sahana Yathra convoys carrying relief aid donated by the general public reached the disaster struck areas of Ratnapura and Nawalapitiya on Thursday (May 24th).
Relief items donated by the general public were being collected until dawn today (May 24) at three collection points which were set up at the head office of The Capital Maharaja Organisation Limited in Braybrooke Place, Stein Studio Complex in Ratmalana and the Depanama Studio Complex.
Following religious observances, the Sirasa – Shakthi Sahana Yathra left for Kegalle, Ratnapura, and Nawalapitiya. Under difficult conditions, some teams reached displacement camps via boat to distribute aid.
Several more convoys will depart Colombo on Friday to provide aid and assistance to affected persons in the Puttalam district and other areas in Ratnapura.
