New Delhi: South African cricketer AB de Villiers shocked everyone on Wednesday by announcing his retirement from international cricket after a successful career of fourteen years in the sport. He informed everyone about the decision through a video on Twitter.
“I have decided to retire from all international cricket with immediate effect,” he said. “After 114 Test matches, 228 ODI’s and 78 T20 Internationals, it is time for others to take over. AB and Virat are also teammates of IPL team Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Anushka Sharma took to Twitter and said that AB has brought a positive impact on others through his achievements. She tweeted, “In life, what we do to positively impact the lives of others has greater meaning than what we accomplish for ourselves. You’ve managed to do both beautifully & always with such grace & integrity. Wishing you & Danielle a blessed, happy life ahead @ABdeVilliers17 @DanielleDV27.” Have a look at the tweet.
