The BJP has hailed Yogi government’s decision to introduce NCERT syllabus in madarsas saying that the decision was an indicator that the state government was working on principles of `Sabka saath, Sabka vikas’.

“The cabinet decision to impart education in madarsas in Hindi and English by introducing NCERT syllabus is a revolutionary step. This will expose students to modern education and in turn help them to get new opportunities,” state BJP spokesman Rakesh Tripathi said on Wednesday.

Tripathi said that Muslims were threatened in the name of BJP and told that the party would harm them socially and financially.

"Contrary to the rumopurs, it is the BJP which initiated methods to upgrade teaching system in madarsas. How long can clerics push these students into the allays of ignorance in the name of religion," the spokesman said.

“When the Yogi government started a portal of Madarsa Board and made registration mandatory for tyhe institutions, there was a drop of over 2 lakh students. These were fake names and officials used to siphon off their fund for scholarships. This regime introduced computerisation and will soon appoint NCERT trained teachers,” he said.

The BJP spokesman said there will be holistic improvement in madarsa education where students will be exposed to scientific and modern style of education.
