Emergency warning: Lives, homes under threat from Scott River East bushfire
Updated
An emergency bushfire warning remains in place for Scott River East in the Shire of Nannup, as firefighters save one home, but say others remain under theat.
The emergency warning applies to people in the vicinity of Governor Broome Road, between Dennis and Avery roads, two kilometres south of Pagett Nature Reserve in Scott River East
The Parks and Wildlife Service said people in the area needed to act immediately to survive.
The alert level was upgraded from a watch and act on Thursday afternoon after the fire moved closer to Governor Broome Road.
The fire started as a government-sanctioned prescribed burn, but it grew out of control and breached containment lines.
A watch and act alert is in place for people in an area bounded by Dennis and Governor Broome roads east towards Milyeannup Coast Road.
It is the second serious fire in the area this week after an out of control private burn-off threatened lives and homes on Tuesday.
Meanwhile authorities have issued a watch and act alert for the south-eastern part of Stirling Range National Park in the City of Albany.
The alert is for people west of Gnowellen Road, north of Chillinup Road and east of Arnolds Road.
Those residents are being urged to leave now if the way is clear or prepare to defend their homes.
The fire started in the national park.
