Specialists of the Russian Central Aero-hydrodynamic Institute held the final stage of static tests of Yak-152 basic training aircraft.
“The design successfully withstood the imposed loads and did not receive any significant residual deformations. A full cycle of experiments lasted more than a year,” TsAGI said in a statement Wednesday.
At the preparatory stage, TsAGI designed and assembled loading systems, prepared information-measuring equipment and an automatic load control system.
Then the engineers tested the wing, cockpit light, fuselage, wing mechanization, chassis mounts, engine hitch assemblies, pilot and engine mounts, control wiring, vertical and horizontal tail. At each step, the specialists worked first to the operational one, and then to the calculated (that is, limiting) value, and the stresses and strains arising in the structure were measured.
The experimental data obtained are necessary to confirm the compliance of the aircraft with domestic standards. In addition, TsAGI will now make recommendations on removing the restrictions on the speed and magnitude of the overloads imposed during the first Yak-152 flight in 2016.
The Yak-152 initial training aircraft was designed by “UAC A.S. Yakovlev” and manufactured at the Irkutsk Aviation Plant - branch of PJSC" Irkut Corporation ". The aircraft differs from analogues with improved flight performance and modern flight control and navigation equipment.
Irkut Corporation will premier two Yakovlev Yak-152 twin-seat diesel-powered primary trainer for the first time during International Aviation and Space Salon MAKS-2017, which takes place from July 18-23 in the Moscow Region. The company said in a press release that its other manufactured aircraft will be participating in a flight program during the show
The Russian Air Force trainees will fly Yak-152 propeller aircraft once the tests on the aircraft are complete, Deputy Defence Minister of the Russian Federation Yuri Borisov said during his visit to Irkutsk Aviation Plant - subsidiary of Irkut Corporation. Yuri Borisov viewed the production progress of Su-30SM multirole fighters and Yak-130 combat trainers, as well as manufacturing process of a new Yak-152 primary trainer aircraft
The maiden flight of the Yak-152 initial training aircraft took place at the airfield of Irkutsk Aviation Plant Thursday. Yak-152 aircraft has been developed by Yakovlev Design Bureau, an affiliate of Irkut Corporation
Russia plans start serial production of the Yakovlev Yak-152 primary training aircraft in March 2017. "The trainer is planned to perform its debut flight within the next two months
