Sachin Tendulkar wishes AB de Villiers: May you have 360-degree success off the field as well


Shocking the cricketing world, former South Africa skipper AB de Villiers famously known as ‘Mr 360 degree’ bid adieu to all forms of international cricket with immediate effect, putting an end to his 14-year-long career. While announcing the news, ABD shared a video on Twitter saying he is ‘tired’ and ‘running out of ‘gas’. However, he also said that it was an extremely tough decision for him to make but feels it is the right time for talented players to take over. After the retirement news, the entire cricketing fraternity shared their reactions on Twitter which was also followed by former India cricketer Sachin Tendulkar as he wished ‘Mr 360 degree’ all the success in life after cricket.

Sachin on Twitter said, “Like your on-field game, may you have 360-degree success off the field as well. You will definitely be missed, @ABdeVilliers17. My best wishes to you!”

In his 14-year long career, AB de Villiers played 114 Test matches, 228 one-day internationals and 78 Twenty20 matches for the Proteas. He also holds the record for the fastest ODI century, reaching the three-figure mark in just 31 balls against West Indies in January 2015. He also holds the record for the fastest Test century by a South African, making 100 from 75 balls against India.
