Baby girl dies after immunisation

The father of a deceased 18-month-old baby girl of Nilgiri lodged an FIR with local police on Wednesday alleging that his daughter died after she was administrated with DPT first booster injection.

She was given injection JE2 and OPV booster dose by the ANM of local health centre at Mardarajpur ANM centre. The complainant, Parameswar Mahapatra, alleged that baby fell sick later after returning home. Although she was rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH), yet she succumbed to the sudden ailment. Doctors declared the baby brought dead.  While around 50 kids were given doses, two more children also fell sick, said sources.
