The US Army has awarded multiple contracts worth over $235 million to Oshkosh Defense for the procurement of recapitalized Heavy Expanded Mobility Tactical Trucks.
The two contracts announced by the U.S. Department of Defense on Tuesday, also includes procurement of “palletized load system (PLS) trucks, PLS trailers, and container transfer enhancement upgrade of M1076A0 PLSTs on the family of heavy tactical vehicles.”
The first contract worth over $182 million has an estimated completion date of Dec. 31, 2019 and another contract worth over $52 million on Oct. 31, 2019. Both will be performed in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
The U.S. Army Contracting Command will oversee all two contracts.
Oshkosh's Heavy Expanded Mobility Tactical Trucks, or HEMTTs, are heavy transport platforms used to resupply combat vehicles and weapon systems on the battlefield. The truck entered service with the Army in 1985, replacing the M520 Goer trucks.
