Indore: Continuing their protest against the management of Modern Dental College for not holding the classes and not paying salaries on time, the college students and teachers filed a complaint before district collector during public hearing here on Tuesday.
They asked collector Nishant Warwade to intervene in the matter and solve their problem. The students said they will stage demonstration and will sit on indefinite strike if their demands are not met.The students’ parents also joined the protest against the college and requested the district administration, elected representatives to act in the matter.
Jitendra Pandey, a family member of a student, said, “We are concerned about the future of our children. No classes have taken place in the college in last two months. Faculty members are protesting against non- payment of salaries.”
A faculty member said that they had raised the issue with the management. “We will start taking classes by the next day of getting our salaries,” one of the faculty members said wishing anonymity. The career of 95 undergraduate students is at stake as they are unlikely to be shifted to other dental college due to Dental Council of India norms.
