Soumay a bridge between Niranjan, Naveen: Jual

Senior BJP leader and Union Minister Jual Oram on Tuesday alleged that there has always been a ‘secret understanding’ between the ruling BJD and the Congress, for which Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik continues to remain in power for so many years.

Addressing a press conference, Oram said that the remarks of the BJD and the Congress on the recent developments in Karnataka were the same. “The comments made by the BJD and the Congress on the Karnataka developments indicate that they have a clandestine understanding in Odisha. Moreover, the Congress gave all its votes to the BJD in the Bijepur by-poll, helping the latter emerge victorious,” he said.

“When the BJP pulled out of the alliance with the BJD in 2009, the Congress, instead of demanding President’s Rule in the State, helped Naveen Patnaik go in for fresh polls,” said Oram.

Newly-elected Rajya Sabha member Soumya Ranjan Patnaik is working as a bridge between PCC president Niranjan Patnaik and CM Naveen Patnaik. Joining of Soumya Rannjan in the BJD and sending him to the Rajya Sabha by the BJD were all preplanned, he alleged.

“Leaders belonging to both the parties (Congress and BJD) are involved in scams like mines and chit funds. They are making all efforts to keep the BJP out of power in Odisha,” Oram said.

Among others, BJP vice-president Samir Mohanty and State spokesperson Golak Mohapatra were present at the Press meet.
