Demanding free and fair election in Noorpur and Kairana, president of Rashtriya Rashtrawadi Party, Pratap Chandra demanded the election commission to issue instructions to political parties/ contestants not to get published advertisement in newspapers 48 hours before the voting. He warned to move to court to file a suit there for getting the election cancelled if the same was not implemented. Chandra said there was provision in People Representative Act 1951 (section 126) which did not allow a contestant/ political party to canvass or get an advertisement published in newspapers. “There is a trend that the contestants/ political parties get advertisements published/ aired on in newspapers and media and this was violation of principle of Free and Fair election,” he said.
