JAIPUR: After three unidentified assailants gunned down a 30-year-old history sheeter in a gym in
Sriganganagar on Tuesday, the cops are still groping in the dark to identify the shooters who are suspected to belong to a rival gang.
The initial investigation, however, has indicated that a few months back, victim Vinod alias Jordan had a fall-out with a gangster. “There are several local criminals who claim their affiliation to notorious gangsters and extort money,” the official said, adding that several organized gangs of
Punjab and
Haryana are spilling into Rajasthan’s Sriganganagar and
Shekhawati regions. The cops also suspect that the same gang, which had hired gunmen to shoot a jeweler on January 26 of this year, could be behind the killing of Jordan.
