Waring-Sullivan Funeral Homes and the Dignity Memorial Network held their 23rd annual Wise Management of Grief Seminar on Wednesday, May 9. This year’s keynote speaker was David Kessler who is an end-of-life and grief specialist. Paul Denniston who is a certified yoga instructor also joined David this year. He demonstrated grief and laughter yoga which helps open hearts and heal souls.

Traveling here from the west coast David ran his own Hospice and Home Health Care Company in the 1990s and was the chief of support care services for a three-hospital system in the state of California. He is the author of many best-selling books and even received praise by Mother Teresa for his hospice book, The Needs of Dying.

This year’s topic “The Death Shapes the Grief” focused on helping those who work in the end-of-life care, mental health care and bereavement settings to be more communitive and effective in their important roles.
