CHANDIGARH: The Haryana government has assured the Punjab and Haryana HC that it would not withdraw any criminal cases against protesters for their alleged role in violence during the February 2016 Jat agitation for reservation.

At least 30 people were killed in police firing during the violence and over 300 injured.

In February, 2018, Khattar government had promised Jat groups, which were leading the reservation stir, that it would withdraw the cases registered against members of the community for the February 2016 violence.
