‘No foul play in beautician’s death’

A day after a 24-year-old beautician fell to death from the fourth floor of a building in north-west Delhi’s Mukherjee Nagar early on Monday, the police said there was no evidence of foul play in the incident.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (North-West) Aslam Khan said on Tuesday, “We have questioned the persons she was with and also met her mother. Enquiry so far has revealed that she fell accidentally. Inquest proceedings have been initiated.”

A senior officer said the woman lived in a rented accommodation in Vijay Nagar. He said she and a friend had gone to Mukherjee Nagar on Sunday night to meet four other friends.

“All of them were heavily drunk. Early on Monday, an argument broke out between the beautician and her friend over the friend disclosing some of her personal details,” he said.

The two of them then went to the terrace, from where the woman fell “accidentally”.

She worked at a spa in north Delhi and was separated from her husband, the police said. The body was handed over to the family after the post-mortem on Monday.
