WARNING: This article contains spoilers for GLOW season 1
The highly anticipated second season of Netflix’s GLOW is back on screens next month.
All episodes will be dropping in one go on June 28 and the uplifting 80s series will pick up with the Gorgeous Ladies Of Wrestling having secured their new TV show.
Netflix promises even more “big hair and body slams” this time around and Alison Brie is back in the lead role as Ruth ‘Zoya the Destroya’ Wilder.
Here’s a look at the cast of GLOW ahead of season two.
Who is in the cast of GLOW season 2?
Ruth ‘Zoya the Destroya’ Wilder - Alison Brie
Back in the lead role of struggling actress Ruth is Alison Brie.
Season one saw the down and out wannabe thespian vilified for sleeping with her best friend Debbie’s husband.
The upcoming episodes will see the two attempt to work together despite this huge wedge between them.
Ruth was cast as villain or heel, Zoya the Destroya and the two fittingly play out their feud in the ring.
Her alter-ego is a Soviet heel complete with a thick Russian accent, who riles up the crowds before being defeated by the hero.
Brie’s co-star Betty Gilpin said her performance is “out-of-this-world good” in the series.
Brie is known for her roles in Community and Mad Men.

Debbie ‘Liberty Belle’ Eagan - Betty Gilpin
A former soap actress, Debbie is cast as the star of GLOW following her real-life fight with best friend Ruth.
Having just had a baby, her life is ruined when she discovers her best friend Ruth slept with her husband Marl (Rich Sommer) but she becomes empowered by wrestling.
Debbie’s wrestling persona is Liberty Belle, an all American hero who the crowd cheer for when she defeats the villain.
Speaking about her co-star, Alison Brie said: “For me to be able to experience shooting these kind of dramatic scenes with Betty – who is just so talented and tuned in – is really fun. I’ve never felt more
connected to a co-star.”
Gilpin has also starred in Nurse Jackie and American Gods.
Netflix
Sam Sylvia - Marc Maron
Playing the cocaine and alcohol-fuelled director of GLOW Sam Sylvia is comedian Marc Maron.
A former B-movie director, he hasn’t had a hit in years and takes on GLOW in the hopes that it will fund another of his projects.
Speaking about the role, Maron said: “He’s bitter; things haven’t worked out the way he wants. He’s struggling to get films made.
“He’s got a little bit of a cocaine problem, he has been through a marriage or two; he’s not great socially. But he’s passionate, and he wants to make things work.”
Maron has also appeared in Girls and Harvey Beaks.
