Mumbai : The government has shortlisted the eligible candidates for vacant senior level management positions in public sector banks, and has sent the list to the Banks Board Bureau, said Financial Services and Banking Secretary Rajiv Kumar on Wednesday.
“There are 2-3 situations like this, we’re aware of this and the Banks Board Bureau is in the process of selecting the candidates,” Kumar said.
The government has also identified 7-8 additional posts that are about to be vacated, the appointments for which are also being considered, he said. State banks such as Dena Bank, Andhra Bank, Punjab & Sind Bank, and Allahabad Bank currently do not have a head. Without committing to a timeline for the appointment, Kumar said that these appointments and that of the RBI deputy governor will be completed “very soon”.
In addition to the position of MD and CEO, the submitted list also contains eligible candidates for vacant posts of executive directors and board members at all 21 PSBs.
