In a political development, Trinamool Congress (TMC) State president Dr Aryakumar Jnanendra on Tuesday resigned from his post to rejoin the Congress.

“I quit the president post and primary membership of the Trinamool Congress to strengthen the Congress in the State now being led by Niranja Patnaik. I have sent my resignation letter to TMC national president Mamata Banerjee by post,” Jnanendra said at a Press conference here.

Responding to media queries, he said, “Cases of corruption, farmers’ suicide and violence against women are on the rise in the State. I will work to bring the Naveen Patnaik Government’s failures in all sectors to people’s notice. I will also tell people that the Niranjan Patnaik-led Congress can give good governance to the State.”

Stating that Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is only shedding crocodile tears over the Mahanadi water dispute and the BJP-led Union Government has misled the youth mass, Jnanendra said he would take these issues to people.
