VARANASI: To keep the flow of pension money of their deceased parents, the sons of a woman did not cremate her for over four months.

On getting report, Bhelupur police raided their house in Kabirnagar colony and recovered the body of Amravati (70). Sons of the woman and their families are absconding.

According to reports, Daya Prasad of Kabirnagar area had retired from customs department as superintendent. After his death, his wife Amravati was receiving Rs 40,000 as pension. It is said that she had died on January 13, but her five sons preserved her body by applying chemicals and stored it in a room of their house.

Inspector Bhelupur Anupam Srivastava said that when the matter came to the knowledge of police, the house was raided. All the family members of Amravati had fled the scene. Ink found on thumbs of the Amravati hinted that its impressions had been taken repeatedly. Police investigation was on.
