Girls outshine boys in RBSE Class 12 Science and Commerce

The overall pass percentage in Science was 86.60 while in Commerce it was 91.09%.

With an overall pass percentage of 90.33 and 94.66 in Science and Commerce streams, girls have outshone boys in the Class 12, results of which were announced by the Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education in Ajmer on Wednesday.

The overall pass percentage in Science was 86.60 while in Commerce it was 91.09%. In Science, out of the 2,46,222 students registered 2,43,516 appeared in the exams out of which 2,10,892 passed the exams.

Similarly, in Commerce 42,657 students were registered and 42,116 wrote their exams out of which 38,362 students were declared successful.

The overall result of government schools was 84.85% in Science, and in Commerce it was 90.39% while the pass percentage of students of private-run schools was 88.91% in Science and 92.56% in Commerce.

It was for the second time that board did not announce the merit list. The board discontinued announcing the merit last from 2018. “We have given up declaring the merit list to bring down pressure among the students so that they can study without fear,” said BL Chudhary, chairperson of RBSE.

“In addition it will also bring down the competition between different private schools which earlier used to attract students displaying big hoardings showcasing board toppers,” he said.

In 2017, the overall pass percentage in Science was 90.36 while in Commerce it was 90.88%. While 89.21% of boys and 93.3% girls passed in Science, 88.56% boys and 95.27% girls passed in Commerce last year.
