Two MP pilgrims among 3 dead, 6 injured in road accident in Jammu

Three persons, including a woman, were today killed and six others injured when a car ploughed into a group of pilgrims from before hitting their parked bus alongside a highway in Jammu, police said.

The bus, on its way to the Vaishno Devi shrine, developed some technical snag and was being attended by its and a mechanic on the roadside near here when a allegedly skidded off the road and hit the pilgrims before crashing with the rear side of the vehicle, a said.

Some pilgrims were waiting outside the vehicle when the incident took place, he said.

He said two pilgrims (55) and (73) - and a local woman identified as (55) of Reasi district travelling in the car died on the spot, while six others were injured and were shifted to for treatment.

The injured included of the car and his two sons, he said, adding their condition was stated to be "serious".
