Nepal cricket team, which earned ODI status during this year’s World Cup qualifiers, will play Netherlands in a two ODI series on August 2 and 3, according to reports.

The two teams will also play a T20 tri-series with the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) at Lords, which will start from July 29.

Nepal and the Netherlands last played at the World Cup Qualifiers in Zimbabwe in March, which the former lost by 45 runs. Nepal had claimed the ODI status in an earlier match by defeating Papua New-Guinea.

The Netherlands last played an ODI against Canada in 2014 in a World Cup qualifier in New Zealand. In that match the Dutch had lost their ODI status.

“We’re delighted to welcome Nepal for their first ODIs, and our first ODI on home soil since 2013. After the honour of being invited to play at Lord’s, we look forward to showing our home fans what we can do. Nepal are an exciting team as we’ve all seen from the IPL Sandeep Lamichanne is a world class player, will be a privilege to have them here.
