Images of vulnerability, violence and societal brutality in different countries will take centre stage in a thought-provoking new photographic exhibition at Valletta’s Malta Society of Arts.
Street: people and places, an exhibition by French-born photographer Vincent Kraft, features several striking and compelling instants from the self-described globetrotter’s travels across 50 countries and some 200,000 kilometres.
The images highlight quiet, dilapidated and abandoned spaces and, in the artist’s words, “explore a raw transcription of society that pervades both human interactions and physical spaces”.
Mr Kraft’s pieces have been featured in photography books and international exhibitions in London, Cardiff, Paris and Valletta. He was also the recipient of the Prize of the Public Award at the London Photo Festival and recently received recognition from Valletta 2018, European Capital of Culture. Street: people and places will be open between 8.30am and 7pm from May 31 to June 16 at the Malta Society of Arts, Palazzo La Salle, Valletta.
