‘Won’t allow scams in name of water projects’

CM-designate visits Dharmasthala

Chief Minister-designate H.D. Kumaraswamy on Tuesday ducked a question on farmers’ loan waiver as promised by Janata Dal (Secular) and said that he will ensure that State farmers prosper. Speaking to reporters at Dharmasthala, Mr. Kumaraswamy said that though his party did not get the mandate from the voters, he would announce plans for farmers’ after the swearing-in.

“There is no need to worry,” Mr. Kumaraswamy said. Meanwhile, Mr. Kumaraswamy said there are no rumblings with regard to Cabinet formation in the State since the stakeholders are yet to deliberate on the issue. Referring to coastal Karnataka’s concern over Yettinahole river water diversion project, Mr. Kumaraswamy said he would not allow scams in the name of water projects. He is committed to protecting the environment.

Arriving at Dharmasthala, Mr. Kumaraswamy and his wife Anitha Kumaraswamy had a darshan of Manjunatheshwara after being welcomed by Dharmadhikari D. Veerendra Heggade.
