Five robbers arrested in Greater Noida

GREATER NOIDA: Five robbers were arrested on Tuesday and stolen goods and valuables were recovered from their possession in Bisrakh area. The accused have been identified as Raju and Bunty, residents of Bulandshahr and Arun, Sachin and Subhash, residents of Dankaur in Gautam Budh Nagar.
Anit Kumar, Circle Officer Greater Noida III, said police received a tip about the movement of the robbers near Gaur City roundabout. “A police team found five suspects at the spot. They frisked the suspects and found two country-made guns, two live cartridges, two knives, two debit cards and Rs 17,000 cash,” he said. During interrogation the accused revealed that they were part of a gang that was involved in snatching in NCR. Raju said the gang members sometimes travelled in a car and offered lift to commuters. “We used to rob the commuters at gunpoint after offering them lift,” he said.

Police said the accused were wanted in six cases of snatching and robbery in Noida and Greater Noida. “They were produced in court and sent to judicial custody,” Kumar said.
