DELAND — A new Community Resource Center is in Spring Hill's future, and city wants to know what its residents are envisioning.

Members of the community are invited to share their thoughts Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at the current Spring Hill Community Resource Center, 910 S. Adelle Ave.

The 1,500-square-foot modular unit that houses the center was built in 1999. It was never meant to be permanent, but funds for the Spring Hill Community Redevelopment Agency, formed in 2004, were nonexistent because of the recession that followed the housing market crash.

Within the past couple of years, the CRA started seeing funds again, and the city budgeted for a new building $250,000, which the Volusia County Council agreed to match dollar for dollar.

The city plans on combining two adjacent parcels located at 481 W. Mathis Ave. and 920 S. Thompson Ave.
