Ranked No.2 the previous week, moves into first place for the week of May 14 with its spot for the ’18 Clarity, which has a 340-mile (544-km) range thanks to its gasoline-engine backup. The commercial also points out qualified buyers can get 0.9% financing on the new model.
In second place is Chevrolet’s commercial featuring real couples who have just started dating. This humorous twist on the company’s “real people (not actors)” series suggests there’s a Chevy SUV model for each step of a relationship: when you’re moving in together (the Trax), when you have your first child (the Equinox) and, finally, for when your family gets big (the Traverse).
Third place also goes to Chevy, this time for an ad spotlighting real Silverado truck owners talking about the scrapes they’ve gotten into with their vehicles. Meanwhile, Infiniti slips from third to fourth place with its “Avengers: Infinity War” integration that promotes the QX50, a car the company says gives super-powers to the “rest of us.”
Rounding out the chart is Kia, which has a kid spokesperson talking up the automaker’s 10-year, 100,000-mile (161,000-km) warranty and 2018 Insurance Institute for Highway Safety Top Safety Pick award. The commercial also notes customers can lease the ’18 Optima LX for $159 a month.
