Senior BJP leader Sunil Bansal said that the co-operative movement could change the face of Uttar Pradesh by not only improving the infrastructure but also making the farmers and the poor financially strong.

Addressing a meeting of newly-elected chiefs of District Co-operative Sangh, District Co-operative Banks and Central Consumer Warehouse, the state BJP general secretary said that the co-operative sector had the potential to bring about changes in society and they should be working on it.

‘We spend time in blaming one another for prevailing conditions in the society. This will end if work is done as per spirit of co-operation. The co-operative societies have the potential to make a turnaround,’ he said.

Talking about achievements of co-operative sector in Gujarat and Maharashtra, Bansal said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has a vision to double farmers’ income by 2022 which could be achieved only if the co-operative sector worked efficiently.
