Unai Emery to Arsenal: William Gallas reveals Patrick Vieira and Thierry Henry shock
ARSENAL should have offered the manager’s job to club legends Patrick Vieira or Thierry Henry instead of Unai Emery, claims former Gunners captain William Gallas.

Former Paris Saint-Germain boss Emery is set to be unveiled as the Arsenal manager this week.
The Spaniard emerged as the Gunners’ choice to replace Arsene Wenger on Monday evening after Mikel Arteta had been the favourite for the job.
But Gallas believes the role should have been handed to a club legend and one of his former France team-mates Vieira or Henry.
Vieira is the current manager of Major League Soccer side New York City, whereas Henry is the assistant manager of Roberto Martinez at Belgium.
I expected to see the former legend players like Patrick Vieira or Thierry Henry
“To be honest I’m a little bit surprised Unai Emery will be the manager,” Gallas told Sky Sports News.
“I expected to see the former legend players like Patrick Vieira or Thierry Henry.
“Personally I didn’t understand why they didn’t go to speak to them and offer them that job.
“They did a lot for that club. When Arsenal won some trophies, it’s because that type of player was there.

“They know the club very well, all the fans like them.
“So like I said I was a little bit surprised but I’m not the chairman, I’m just a former player and I give my opinion.
“So I think for the next year we will see what Arsenal are going to do because they will be under pressure.
“If Unai Emery goes to Arsenal, he will need to get results, and it won’t be easy.”
