Samuel Fernandez Harmony Township On May 19, 2018, at 5:30 p.m., in Allegheny General Hospital on the North Side of Pittsburgh, surrounded by his loving family, Samuel Fernandez passed away. The first born child to Gertrude and Samuel Fernandez Sr., he was born July 26, 1936, in Ambridge, Pa. Sam is survived by his wife, Desiree Fernandez, and siblings, Vince, Ray and Rosalie Mack. He leaves behind three children with Olga Fernandez, Carla, Lisa and Chrissy; two sons-in-law, Bob and Ron; grandchildren, Ronnie, Ryan, Julie, Dan, Angela, Nathan, Donte, and a future great-grandchild. Sam was also a proud father of two Dachshunds, Sammy D and Angelo, both of whom loved him dearly. A Marine Corps Veteran, Sam was stationed in Puerto Rico. Those closest to him will remember him for his larger-than-life personality. He was responsible for many laughs and late nights at his Bamboo Bar. He had many friends, some of whom are greeting him and some who will miss him. Friends will be received on Tuesday, May 22, 2018, from 4 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday, May 23, 2018, from 2 to 8 p.m. in the BOHN-MATICH FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 1099 Maplewood Ave., Ambridge. A blessing service will be held on Thursday at a time to be announced. Interment will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
