No rumblings of discontent over Cabinet formation, says Kumaraswamy

Karnataka chief minister-designate H.D. Kumaraswamy on Tuesday said that there are no rumblings of discontent over Cabinet formation, as the stakeholders are yet to deliberate on the issue.

Media reports on Cabinet formation are not realistic, he told reporters after visiting the Manjunatheshwara temple at Dharmasthala.

Referring to coastal Karnataka’s concern over the Yettinahole river water diversion project, Mr. Kumaraswamy said he would not allow malpractices in the name of water diversion project.

His family believed in the Almighty since the beginning and they believed that his government was being formed with the Almighty’s blessings. He prayed for divine intervention to fulfil people’s expectations from the government and for good rains resulting in flourishing agriculture, and he did not have anything to seek for personal benefit, he said.

Promises stable govt. for 5 years

There would be a stable government for the next five years and his government would introduce welfare programmes without burdening the common man with additional taxes, he said.

Taking a dig at the proposed government being called an unholy alliance, he said there was no such thing as holy or unholy in politics. The government would survive if it had the required number of legislators, he noted.

Referring to incidents of clashes in coastal Karnataka, Mr. Kumaraswamy said minor incidents were leading into clashes, which was not good for society. The younger generation should focus on their future instead of getting involved in clashes, Mr. Kumaraswamy said, adding that if they had any problem, they could contact him for their resolution.

Mr. Kumaraswamy, who arrived in Dharmasthala by a helicopter, was welcomed by Dharmadhikari D. Veerendra Heggade before he and his wife Anitha Kumaraswamy had a darshan of Lord Manjunatheshwara. Later, he left for to Sringeri.
