Bhopal: CM, BJP busy in tours; Congress content with in room meetings

Bhopal: The appointment of Kamal Nath as Congress state president had come as a ray of hope for its leaders but in the past twenty days, the condition of the party has deteriorated further. On one hand, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and BJP newly-appointed state president Rakesh Singh are vigorously conducting tours across the state while on the other, Kamal Nath is busy with his room meetings.

Chouhan has started taking night halt at Assembly seats, where his party could not do well and also at the constituencies where the party prospects are said to be weak. Chouhan is working with people and the BJP grassroots workers. Singh too toured across the divisions and held meetings with his party activists. The BJP is also arranging tours of its leaders in villages.

On the contrary, Congress leaders are neither touring across the districts nor its state president has any state-tour programme. Nath is touring Delhi and Bhopal, which is creating disappointment in ground-level workers of the party. He is conducting meeting of every wing of the party after becoming the state chief. Nath has insisted his party workers in all his meetings to get active in field quickly as they have less time left.

The road map of working in the field is not clear to the party workers as the party has not launched any such campaign.  A senior Congress leader maintains that Nath is presently trying to understand the working of the party organisation and he would go on tour after that, though this leader maintains that it is all contributing in causing delay.
