Haryana move to discuss village development plans with villagers

In a new initiative, Haryana Development and Panchayat Minister OP Dhankar has decided to discuss development plans for villages with the residents before finalising them.

In this series, the development plans of villages of district Jhajjar, which have been included under the Deenbandhu Haryana Gram Uday Yojna, have been prepared by the Panchayat Minister alongwith MLA, Naresh Kaushik by listing priorities on the recommendations of the representatives of village panchayats concerned and the villagers.

Interacting with the villagers, the Minister on Monday said that the Deenbandhu Haryana Gram Uday Yojna has been implemented for the development of villages.

The Union Ministry of Rural Development has been taking concrete steps under the scheme for the development of villages. The villages of Bahadurgarh, Beri, Badli and Jhajjar assembly constituencies have been selected under this scheme according to the population.

Dhankar said that the villages with population between 3,000 and 10,000 have been selected for undertaking development on the pattern of cities. The financial help would be provided through NABARD, the Minister said.

Under this scheme, various development works would be undertaken such as irrigation related projects, promoting horticulture, setting up haat of flowers, fruits and vegetables at entrance gates of villages, renovation of community centres, drinking water supply, infrastructural development of health and education, and renovation of Anganwadi Centres, he added.
