Liverpool transfer news: £40m Gianluigi Donnarumma swap deal eyed this summer
LIVERPOOL are plotting an ambitious deal to sign AC Milan's Gianluigi Donnarumma, according to reports in Italy.
The Italian goalkeeper is facing an uncertain future at the Serie A outfit, with numerous reports again linking him with a move away from the San Siro this summer.
Liverpool have emerged as the front-runners for Donnarumma's signature in recent weeks despite their links to Roma shot-stopper Alisson Becker and Juventus icon Gianliugi Buffon.
And it appears the Merseyside outfit are prepared to offload a player of their own to land the 19-year-old.
According to Italian outlet CalcioMercato, Liverpool are ready to part ways with £40m plus a squad member to tempt Milan into selling.

The publication doesn't state which Reds star will be used as a makeweight in the deal.
However, question marks still surround the futures of regular goalkeepers Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius.
Talk of Donnarumma's exit began last summer, when agent Mino Raiola hinted the star would reject a deal at the Italian side.
But Milan director Massimiliano Mirabelli has played down rumours.
“We have received no offers for him and he has never mentioned us that he wants to leave," he told Milan TV.
"Donnarumma is a heritage of the club and he signed a new contract one year ago.
"We want him to stay at AC Milan for long time.”
