It's the end of the line for Lifetime's UnREAL. The Bachelor-inspired drama is expected to end after Season 4, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
In a surprising move, the show's fourth and final season will reportedly be released directly to Hulu. The final episodes may still air on Lifetime after their Hulu debut, but that isn't guaranteed at this point. The trade reports that Hulu dropped a huge sum of money to gain first dibs on Season 4, which is expected to arrive in 2019.
The news comes after Lifetime gave an early renewal for a fourth season and began production right after wrapping Season 3. Season 4, which officially wrapped production in January 2018, will consist of eight episodes instead of its usual 10.
Created by Marti Noxon and Sarah Gertrude Shapiro, the series offered a salacious behind-the-scenes look at the fictional dating reality series Everlasting. It stars Shiri Appleby and Constance Zimmer as executive producers whose ruthless methods for generating onscreen drama raise questions about whether any show is really worth it. Season 3 featured Masters of Sex alum Caitlin Fitzgerald as Everlasting's first female suitor.
UnREAL's fourth and final season is expected to arrive sometime in 2019 on Hulu. Season 3 is expected to hit the streaming service ahead of the Season 4 debut.
