The Little Theatre of Fall River presented a pre-show Celebration of Ethnic Diversity on opening night of the musical "Ragtime" on May 10 at Bristol Community College Arts Center.

Invited guests to the pre-show reception represented many different countries and ethnic backgrounds, including Portugal, Italy, France, Greece, Dominican Republic, Ireland, England, Cambodia, along with representatives of The Jewish community, and the Multicultural Student Union of BCC. The pre-show reception included complimentary desserts from many countries, the Portuguese Folklore Group performed, an exhibit of postcards provided by the Fall River Historical Society and a slide show depicting life in Fall River at the beginning of the 20th century provided by the Historic Photo Club of Fall River were part of the celebration. On Friday and Sunday, Irish Step Dancers from Loralee's Dance Studio performed and on Saturday, the Cambodian Dancers performed in the lobby of BCC prior to showtime. The coordinators of the pre-show celebrations were Patricia Taylor, president of Little Theatre of Fall River, Betty Teixeira, grants chairperson, and Peggy Deston, grants committee.
