MUMBAI: A 22-year-old woman, Shraddha Dhavle, ended her life by jumping into a well in
Nalasopara (E) late on Monday after her father took her phone for chatting for hours with a friend. Her body was found in the well on Tuesday.
Shraddha’s father Mangesh, a ward boy in a private clinic, told police at 8pm, when he found Shraddha on the phone with a male friend, he snatched it and scolded her. She left home in a huff, Mangesh said. When she did not return home till late at night, her parents looked for her. They later approached the police. Mangesh told the police that his daughter, a class 10 dropout, had undergone a brain surgery in 2015, and since then had been short-tempered. The police have registered a case of accidental death.
