UP police pledges to fight subversive forces on Rajiv Gandhi death anniversary

With Congress leaders fondly remembering former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on his 28th death anniversary on Monday, officials of Uttar Pradesh Police took the pledge to fight subversive forces to mark the day.

In Lucknow, DGP, OP Singh gave oath to all policemen posted in his office, asking them that they would work to maintain unity and peace in the country and will not hesitate to sacrifice their lives while fighting subversive forces. Every year, across the country, security forces observed the day as ‘Anti-Terrorism Day’and mark it by taking pledge to fight subversive forces.

The day is also observed to generate awareness among all sections of people about danger of terrorism and violence and its effect on the people, society and the country as a whole.
