Ujjain: A memorandum was handed over to Mahakaleshwar Temple Management Committee (MTMC) assistant administrator Dilip Garud on Monday, by some local social workers objecting to the carving style on stones being used in the new construction.
Social worker engineer Amar Yadav alleged that the design on the temple stones resembled the Christian style which hurt sentiments of many devotees. He demanded strict action against the construction agency. He said if action was not taken within two days, a dharna would be organised by the devotees.
Engineer Yadav said, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and other public representatives had been informed about the matter. Pushpendra Chittoda, Vishal Goswami, Sandeep Yadav, Nirmal Patidar and Vivek Sony were present.
