The suspension order on Congress Erasama leader Sarada Jena has been revoked following instruction from the Pradesh Congress Committee, informed District Congress Committee president Rabindra Nath Mohanty.

Jena, a four-time Zilla Parishad Member from Erasama block, had been suspended from the party in 2014 when he contested as an independent candidate from the the Balikuda-Erasama Assembly constituency against the party’s official nominee. He had polled a sizable number of votes that led to the official candidate’s defeat.

After Niranjan Patnaik assumed office as PCC president, he is trying to rejuvenate the party taking old and potential Congress leaders back to the party fold, said DCC president Mohanty. Party supporters are happy over revocation of the suspension order against Sarada Jena.
