3 held for snatching mobile phones

The police nabbed three men who attacked two pedestrians in different parts of Maduravoyal with sharp weapons and snatched their mobiles on Saturday night.

According to the police, Ambuj Kumar, 24, from Bihar, is a resident of Appar Street, Karthikeyan Nagar, Maduravoyal and works at a BPO in Ambattur. At 10.15 p.m. on Saturday, he was walking past the Narayana School in Karthikeyan Nagar when three persons riding a bike slashed his left shoulder and palm with a sharp weapon and snatched away his mobile.

He was rushed to a private hospital in Anna Nagar. On Sunday morning, he lodged a complaint in the Maduravoyal police station.

In another incident, the same group targeted Siddharth, 22, a resident of Pallavan Nagar, Madurovayal, who works as a service engineer at a company in Ekkatuthangal.

When he was walking near his house around 10.30 p.m, the three persons riding a bike hit him on the head with a sharp weapon and snatched away his cell phone.

He was rushed to the Kilpauk Medical College Hospital and given treatment. He is said to be out of danger. A complaint was lodged in the Maduravoyal police station.

On Sunday, the police arrested Shankar, Sekhar, Manikandan, all in their twenties, in connection with the cases. Three cell phones were recovered from them. Further investigation is on.
