Yesterday, Saturday, May, 19, was Armed Forces Day. I looked and looked in the TRN, and all over “social media,” but could not any mention if this day set aside to honor the men and women of our armed forces.
I wondered what could have usurped the impact of this day. And then it dawned on me: the “royal wedding”! Heaven forbid that ANYTHING get in the way of the “wedding,” even giving those of us who chosen to protect the rest of us even if is denying their lives or sacrificing them.
Well, this is one proud vet that will give his successors their due.
To each and all who have served or are presently serving, and your families who also serve: THANK YOU for sacrifices, we owe you a debt that we can never repay.

Editor's Note: On page 2B of Sunday's newspaper, we featured a military memorial service held at Sheppard Air Force Base, where Wichita Falls Chief of Police Manuel Borrego said, 'Having a memorial ceremony for military police for these heroes is an honor. These heroes died protecting. We will always remember and honor the fallen officers.'
