Stalin will participate in the swearing-in ceremony of JD (S) leader HD
Kumaraswamy as chief minister of Karnataka on May 23. This was confirmed by the DMK on Monday.
The JD(S) founder and former prime minister HD Deve Gowda spoke to Stalin over phone and invited him to attend his son’s swearing-in event.
Stalin will have an opportunity to meet several regional party chiefs like West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee, Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati, Samajwadi Party leader Akilesh Yadav, TDP chief and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Telangana chief minister
K Chandrasekhar Rao.
DMK sources said if the occasion permitted, Stalin may also call on Kumaraswamy and discuss the
Cauvery issue as TN farmers require water for the kuruvai (short term paddy) season.
