A revenue official was arrested red handed while accepting bribe of Rs 15,000 in Punjab's Sangrur district, police said today.
The arrest was made by the Punjab vigilance bureau after receiving a complaint against the official identified as Jaspal Singh.
The complainant told the bureau that Singh had demanded Rs 15,000 to change the ownership of a land.
After verifying his information, the vigilance team laid a trap and the accused was arrested on the spot while accepting the bribe, the police said.
A case under Prevention of Corruption Act was registered against the accused at Patiala police station and further investigations were under progress, they said.
