Debate, painting competitions on ‘Beat Plastic Pollution’ held

Environment Management, Sports and Corporate Communication departments of Tata Steel today organised “Environment Painting & Debate Competition” on UNEP theme “Beat Plastic Pollution” at JRD Tata Sports Complex, Jamshedpur. The event was targeted to the students of Jamshedpur.

Suresh Paswan, regional officer, Jharkhand State Pollution Control Board graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. He urged all to come together and explore sustainable alternatives and reduce excessive use of plastic in our daily life to save our environment.

Around 400 children participated in both the competitions. The painting competition were evaluated by judges from School of Art (Rajesh Bajpai & Jaspal Singh) and debate competition by judges from Corporate Communication, TSL (Prity Jha & R Shuvra) respectively.

SK Pati, chief Environment Management, Tata Steel, Ashish Kumar, head, Sports, Tata Steel and other officers from Tata Steel  Raju Agrawal, Satish Choudhary, J N Reddy, Anoj Choudhary, Brajesh Sharma, Padm Nabh Tripathy, Tirtha Prasad Sapkota, Mritunjay Kumar, Satish Kr Singh, Feeroj Khan, Hasan Imam, L Nageswar Rao, B K Jena & and Vivek Sharma were present on the occasion.

Tata Steel celebrates World Environment Day every year. This year, a number of events are being planned to mark the occasion under a central campaign “Greenfection”.
