Telstra aware of mobile phone outages

Telstra says it is aware of outages to its mobile phone services.

The company responded to customer complaints on Twitter with the message: "We're aware of an issue impacting our mobile network. Sorry for any inconvenience."

In a statement, Telstra said, "We are working to resolve the issue as soon as possible".

There were also widespread complaints about Telstra's outage page not working.

The outage comes after a similar incident on May 1, when a nationwide issue prevented thousands of customers from making or receiving calls for several hours.

The Government is investigating Telstra's triple-0 outage on May 4, which saw emergency calls from around the country go unanswered.

People were reporting on Monday morning that only the SOS services were available during the current issue.

More to come.
