VARANASI: The mortal remains of slain
Chhattishgarh Armed Force (
CAF) jawan Ravinath Patel (23) reached his native village Dallupur in Badagon area on Monday. The martyr was given a guard of honour in a mournful atmosphere.
UP minister Neelkanth Tiwari, district magistrate Yogeshwar Ram Mishra, SSP RK Bharadwaj and others paid tributes to the brave son of the soil by placing wreaths. Ravinath, along with others, were killed in a powerful IED blast by Maoists in Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh on Sunday.
Entire village assembled at his house when his body arrived here in the afternoon. The wailing of his parents Satyaprakash Patel and Anita Devi and sister Sarita rented the air. He was to visit his village on May 24 to take part in family function. A pall of gloom descended on the village as the news of his demise in
Dantewada blast reached here on Sunday afternoon. The Basni market remained closed on Monday to mourn his death.

Another
CAF jawan Arjun Rajbhar (35) from Baraipara in Sadiabad area of Ghazipur district also lost his life in the blast. His parents Baliram Rajbhar and Ramavati Devi were speechless after knowing the demise of their son. He is survived by wife and three children. After a 15-day leave, he returned to duty on April 20.
