A woman and her daughter were terrorized in their Seaford home Saturday when masked men broke in, demanded money and threatened to shoot the 5-year-old.

Seaford Police Chief Robert Kracyla said the home invasion took place around 2:45 a.m. at a 23-year-old woman's home in the Seaford Meadows housing complex.

He said the homeowner heard a commotion downstairs and soon was confronted by a masked man with an empty box in his hand.

Kracyla said the armed man demanded money, but she told him he there wasn't any in the house. Kracyla said she was struck in the eye with a fist or open hand.

A second masked man soon appeared carrying the woman's daughter, Kracyla said. He said the man put a gun to the girl's head and threatened to shoot her unless they were given money, Kracyla said. The girl was not injured, however.

The pair then ransacked the house and left without taking anything, Kracyla said. The woman was treated at a local hospital for her injuries, Kracyla said.

Kracyla said police are trying to get surveillance photos from the apartment complex. Anyone with information can contact Seaford police at (302) 629-6644.
